 After several months of development, a major Dolibarr is available in stable version (2.4).
Dolibarr is a modular software (on active that the functions you want) management companies, independent or associations. In more technical term is an ERP and CRM. It is a project OpenSource based on a server or LAMP WAMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP).
Dolibarr complements the already existing offers of many softwares in this category like OpenBravo, OpenERP (Ex TinyERP), Neogia, Compiere, etc... but apart from the fact that everything is done to provide simplicity:
* Simple to install (with an installer for Windows DoliWamp for those who do not know how to install a WAMP server).
* Simple to use (modular functions to not overload the menus, clear information)
* Simple for development (no heavy frameworks). Dolibarr integrates its own architecture (design patterns) enabling any developer to be immediately operational without knowledge other than PHP.
What Dolibarr do in this version
In this version, there are the following modules (all optional):

* Management of bank accounts
* Directory of prospects and / or client and / or suppliers

* Management actions / tasks with an integrated agenda (or link with webcalendar)

Other major features are:
* Implementation mutli-user with levels of permissions per module.
* Several managers menus (possibility to differentiate menus for users internal or external customers or suppliers)
* Implementation simple to use.
* Several visual themes.
* Code simplest is easily customizable.
* Works with MySQL 3.1 or more (other bases not yet supported).
* Works with PHP 4.3 or more.
What's new compared to 2.2
Here is a general list of more detailed changes, made in version 2.4 compared to the previous release 2.2:

Henceforth, Dolibarr versions are also available in a package named DoliWamp which is a turnkey installer for Windows and installing Apache, MySQL and PHP in addition to Dolibarr via a simple. Exe.

The wiki
The wiki documentation francophone has been upgraded and documentation developer well complete. Thus there are now standards developments and a comprehensive tutorial to add functional modules in Dolibarr (whether the addition of new menus, screens, numbering modules, adding boxes on the homepage, module generation model PDF document, etc. ...)

The known problems:
Users of Belgium must configure the language in Dolibarr to en_US and non fr_BE because fr_BE poses a problem of interpretation amounts that are abnormally multiplied or divided by 100 or 1000.
Remember than Dolibarr does not yet have the following features:
* No accounting record (only cash management).
* Dolibarr not manage a single currency at a time (single currency).
* Do not manage the double tax (Federal / provincial) of Canada.
* Dolibarr contains no payroll module.
* Dolibarr is not coffee (which is the wiki says). |
