 2 month after version 2.4.1 (a minor fix version), a new major version of Dolibarr is available. It's version 2.5
Main direction of this version is internationnalization. Code was changed to include UTF8 support by default. This allow to translate Dolibarr into other languages than latin language. But a lot of other enhancements make this version to be be a major version... |

 PHP Solutions has presented Dolibarr into its numero of october.
There is no test of Dolibarr itself but just half a page to present this S3S Software (Simple to install, Simple to use, Simple to develop). |

After several months of development, a major Dolibarr is available in stable version (2.4).
Dolibarr is a modular software (on active that the functions you want) management companies, independent or associations. In more technical term is an ERP and CRM. It is a project OpenSource based on a server or LAMP WAMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP).
Dolibarr complements the already existing offers of many softwares in this category like OpenBravo, OpenERP (Ex TinyERP), Neogia, Compiere, etc... but apart from the fact that everything is done to provide simplicity:
* Simple to install (with an installer for Windows DoliWamp for those who do not know how to install a WAMP server).
* Simple to use (modular functions to not overload the menus, clear information)
* Simple for development (no heavy frameworks). Dolibarr integrates its own architecture (design patterns) enabling any developer to be immediately operational without knowledge other than PHP.

Dolibarr is a GPL OpenSource project. Like a lot of other GPL projects, what is distributed is sources. Packaging for an automatic installation is most often provided by the OS distribution you use. If for Linux or BSD systems, this is easy to use because there is a lot of packages can be found "ready to use", it's not so simple for Windows. However there is a solution... |
