Currently the project ref and label can’t be query anywhere but in the project page itself. I do believe that most of the invoice and/or proposal should have project name included and this should be easier to reach or query. As well as the proposal since most of the invoice should have proposal reference number included when print them out. I believe that those are doable but as a non-programmer, PDF export is quite hard for us and ODT export don’t have much to query and editting PHP is seem impossible.
So it might be easier to have a checkbox in module setup page which have a checkbox to enable the field from cross module.
For example, in the “Invoices module setup” , there is another tab showing all the module variable to use like project_id, project_ref, project_title, proposal_ref, proposal_startdate, proposal_enddate, and then user can click and it will display in the invoice table and query-able.
