I need to add other mandatory fields in the public self-subscrition form of the members module. Were and how can I edit this form?

Hello,
you must look at -> Setup -> Default values/filters/sorting -> Mandatory form fields
Or you look direct into the PHP Form: htdocs/public/members/new.php

I found the php file, but I have no idea how to modify it according to my needs.
At -> Setup -> Default values/filters/sorting -> Mandatory form fields there is no entry, see attched screenshot. And the public self-subscription form has 7 mandatory fields. I want to skip some of these an add some more fields, mandatory and not mandatory.
How can I do this?
