Is this possible, doable etc?
It seems that it would be possible, and would provide clear demarcation of company entities?
Has anyone done/tried this? How did you do it?

I do not have the full details yet but I have a structure of a company with multiple child businesses. In regards to Dolibarr I am treating them as multiple companies.
At the moment I am setting up and have installed the Multi Company paid module.
This module allows you to set some of the data types that can be shared between the companies, and which if any, each company shares set information with.
So I believe all the companies could be separate OR share data.
You start with a base company, then add the other companies as required.
You use the same login page for all, though you select which company you are logging into.
Before I purchased the module I had questions that did not get answered by the supplier, however they did help me install it as I am new to Dolibarr and some conflicting information out there got me into an issue.
