SOLVED: How to Upgrade Dolibarr from 3.0 to the latest

My client insist on using Dolibarr, he has 3.0 version installed.
Will installing the Doliwamp 7.0.3 updates the software automatically without any data loss…?

Can someone guide me with the step by step or a procedure to go ahead with the update without loosing any data.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, not sure about Doliwamp as I did it on the self-hosted web version. Either way, make sure a full backup is done beforehand.

First do a back-up

Hello,

if your customer used DoliWamp for his old installation, than you should use DoliWamp Package again.

But it works also, if you copy the new files into /dolibarr/htdocs/install

Before you start - make a Dolibarr Backup:

  1. Backup the database and save this file external
  2. Copy the whole installation path /dolibarr/~

From Dolibarr 3.0 to 7.0 is a big step
and maybe the system environment is not up to date.
So check also the PHP version and the database,

Maybe it is an idea to make the update stepwise:
first go to update with Dolibarr 5.0.6
than make the the second update to Dolibarr 7.0.3
