Transfer dolibarr 7 installed on win7 to win10

Hi,

I hope this message finds you well.

I installed dolibarr 7 on windows 7 a few years back and following a windows crash I had to reinstall windows and upgraded to win10.

I need to transfer the dolibarr data and instance to the new windows install. could you or anybody please indicate me what I would need to do in order for all the data back since the old install would not start anymore.

You need to make a backup on Windows 7 : https://wiki.dolibarr.org/index.php/Backups

And make a restore on Windows 10 : https://wiki.dolibarr.org/index.php/Restores

Thank you for the reply however I can’t start the old dolibarr.

Is there a way to start all services manually so I can extract everything from the old dolibarr?

You do not have a backup ???

if not :
1 - start praying
2 - Reinstall the SAME doliwamp version than the old one
3 - Stop doliwamp services
4 - Overwrite the new doliwamp directory with the old doliwamp directory
5 - Cross your fingers
6 - Restart Doliwamp

This method is a bit more complicated, and it uses tools provided by Microsoft itself. The only advantage that it has over using Laplink PCmover is that it can be used in in-place upgrades, while Laplink requires that you have a secondary external hard drive.

Before using this tool, you must know that you must first buy Windows 10 or have a valid Windows 10 serial number.

Using the Media Creation Tool is fairly simple, as you need to just follow these steps:

Go to the Microsoft Media Creation Tool’s website
Press the Download tool now button
Launch the installer once the download is finished
In the What do you want to do menu, select Upgrade this PC nowupgrade this pc now
Enter your Windows 10 license key
Select Next
Agree with the licensing terms and conditions
Select Keep personal files and apps
Click on Install
