Hello Dolibarr Community,

I am seeking assistance with automating the manufacturing order process in Dolibarr based on the stock levels of components. My goal is to create manufacturing orders automatically when stock for certain components is loaded or reaches a specific threshold.

**What I Need Help With:**

- Advice on whether there is an existing module or feature in Dolibarr that can facilitate this automation.
- Suggestions for approaching custom development, if necessary, including any hooks, APIs, or third-party modules that could be leveraged.
- Recommendations for best practices or considerations to keep in mind when implementing this functionality.

Any guidance, resources, or insights from the community would be greatly appreciated. I am open to exploring various solutions, including custom development or existing tools that I may not be aware of.

Thank you in advance for your help and support.

Best regards,

Hi,

there is a related GitHub issue/feature request using the replenishment function to create manufacturing orders. Maybe you can get in touch with the author?

> If a product is build by a MO (Nature of Product = manufa…ctured product), i mean a Product how was \*\*not\*\* "for purchase", then it's not possible to find this product´s easy to create the MO. Also it's very troublesome to create the MO's Product by Product.
> So i like to upgrade the replenishment view with a MRP integration. The target is to filter all Products with a BOM and create the MO's with a massaction button.

@marceloaraujo, This is a great use case for automation, and I’d approach it by separating **stock monitoring** from **manufacturing order creation**.

A practical workflow could be:

**Component stock falls below threshold → Check BOM and demand → Validate required components → Create Manufacturing Order → Assign for review/approval.**

Before developing anything custom, I’d first check Dolibarr’s native stock, BOM, manufacturing, and replenishment capabilities to see how much of this workflow can already be handled through configuration or existing modules.

If the native functionality doesn’t cover the exact trigger you need, a custom module or hook would be the next step. The important part would be making the automation idempotent, so it doesn’t create duplicate manufacturing orders every time stock is updated.

For a production environment, I’d also recommend keeping a **human approval step before the manufacturing order is actually released**. That gives you the efficiency of automation without losing control over unusual demand, incorrect stock levels, or incomplete component availability.

This could be a very clean automation once the trigger conditions and business rules are clearly defined.
