Budget management.

Hi all!
We have been using dollibar as our main finance managemet application.
We have a small architecture and engineering firm that acts as a construction and consultant company… and we are thinking about the need of budget management by project and/or supplier.

This budget management would be a very usefull improvement for dollibar, as is needed fo a more complete project finance organization and planning.

I mean: when you have a customer for a certain project you sell to this customer with a budget, that easy, but this budget is the result of a group of budgets (from suppliers, hand working, sales costs, taxes, benefits, etc.

So, A: it should be very important to have a way of assigning amounts of money to be “Shadowed” for that particular supplier or project (budget heading?.. in french “poste budgétaire”?)

And B: As the situation is (for a particular project)in one hand we have the dollibarr selling budget (incoming money) but in the other we should have the buying/costs budgets (outgoing money) and this could be grouped by supplier or project to have the chance of budget management (by project or by supplier)

This management is also very important to be in full control of a project, in order to be aware of deviations or budget errors, to be capable of corrective measures or to advice customer or supplier of deviation causes.

As always, I congratulate developers for this excellent finance tool and thanks in advance again for any help or opinion about this post.

Alejandro

As a second instance of this suggestion I’ve been thinking on a way buggets and money could be managed.
Maybe using approved Orders, supplyer’s and or customer´s, the ammounts could be taken in count to show money expected to be payed or received within certain time period and certain project, in order to have financial control of that particular project.
that really could be great.
I think it could be possible… and it should be an excellent budget and financial aid tool.
I wish I could be able to develop this, but I don’t think I could, at least not alone. maybe I can develop the graphics to show the curves expected an such things… but not much more than this, so… if anybody thinks is usefull I could help.

Regards
Alejandro
