Hi! I am trying to figure out if Dolibarr would be a good choice for my small business. I need to configure my company, which is in the province of Quebec, Canada, along with the relevant taxes: GST and TVQ (the provincial tax, a subtype of PST).
In the MenuCompanySetup screen, when I select a contry such as Brazil or the US, I get a dropdown list of states. So far so good. However, when I select Canada, the province/state list is totally EMPTY.
I went to the Dictionary:DictionaryRegion screen and looked up canadian provinces, but found none. So I tried to create a province manually and got the error message: “Record already exists”.
Another problem I’ve found: in the English-language interface, in the MenuCompanySetup screen, taxes are properly named “GST” and "PST. However in the French-language interface the taxes seem to be hard-coded, as only the “VAT” label and messages appear (which is incorrect for Canada). I have users in both languages so it’s important that the English and French version are coherent.
This is a really annoying situation and I would truly, definitely appreciate if someone could find out how to “unlock” the Canadian provinces. I need to make a decision this week and there are other cloud-based ERPs in my list. Thanks!
Another problem. I have created 2 provinces successfully in the Dictionary. However, when I come back to the MenuCompanySetup and choose Canada, the state/province dropdown is still empty.
Still didn’t work. Here are the links http://http://avantrad.ca/upload/hugo/temp/dolibarr_dict_prov.png http://http://avantrad.ca/upload/hugo/temp/dolibarr_company.png
Country region and province are on 3 levels.
Country
Region
State or province
If you want to see quebec on the state field, just create a region “all canada” instead of quebec and the create the state quebec or o ontario into the dictionary state and not region.
For translation, it seems that en_ca and fr_ca are ok only for version 3.8 or more…
