If you look at the project module thoroughly, it is somewhat able to be used as a cost center…
You can tag a project to a product, sales orders, invoices, payments, projects, wages/salaries paid, track tasks With billable times and contracts. Also I believe taxes paid can also be linked to specific projects.
My favorite so far is the basic analytics that tell you if a project/cost center is profitable or not.
Under the overview tab in a project, you can see all related transactions.
