Hi, I am too waiting for the accounting package/module. I am surprised it doesn’t have one yet especially considering how long dolibarr has been around and the importance of such a module. Or is there a possibility to connect with another accounting software (e.g. frontaccounting)? However, dolibarr is a very impressive application!
I have developped a full accounting module for dolibarr for my own company and we used it since 2006.
This project has been waiting for financial subscriptions for years on many platforms, especially former dolibarr.pro website, in order to become a generic module (vs specific for my own needs). There was an access to the full module on a dolibarr instance, and a community website to manage the evolution of the module… Never saw one penny… Very poor contributions also… No business model found… so we sort of gave up.
It’s now a restricted-access module on doliforge, still waiting for time or money (same thing - time is money) to be continued/achieved.
It works on dolibarr 3.1x and Regis has begun the 3.2 migration on doliforge.
Still dont know when it will be available and under which conditions…
Thanks for your response Christophe, I am sorry to hear about the difficulties with your project. I can’t understand why you didn’t find more support as the accounting module is most needed to make dolibarr a complete ERP/CRM solution. Anyhow, if you need somebody to test your application please let me know. I am a business economist (but now running a B& so I can check the logic & functions from a user perspective (I am not a programmer though). This module should be available at the dolistore as soon as possible.
I have an offline standalone accounts software package and I am looking into integrating with dolibarr. We have already integrated with basecamp, virtumart, oscommerce and also credit card payment gateways such as PayPal and worldpay.
The idea is that the standalone program connects via mysql and provides a backup to the entire Dolibarr database and also provides the full accounting functionality off-line. The rationale is that accounts for many companies is generally a single user function whereas CRM and ERP is collaborative.
Currently this is UK only. Is anyone interested in this approach if so I can make the software freely available.
I am currently running a remote test server with Dolibarr installed. I would be interested to know more about your accounting plug-in - BTW I am UK based.
Is this downloadable, or is there an on-line demo?
I have looked at other accounting packages incl. FrontAccounting, Phreedom and Xtuple and although Phreedom is a strong candidate it is let down very badly IMHO by relatively poor forum activity levels - how is your product going to be supported?
It is good if Dolibarr can accounting, but don’t panic about this feature.
What we suggest our client to do on Dolibarr 3.5.x about their expense is
that add those purchase goods and payrolls to supplier module. If they do not have separate software for accounting.
However, most clients have their own accounting software to generate balance sheet, such as quickbook, myob, gnucash or excel.
The bank account in financial module is more like a cash box to monitoring the money in and out from customer and the cost from supplier.
I think Dolibarr ERP/CRM is more like a sales system to monitor the stocking, service and sales performance. There is nothing about company assets recording, rental and bills in Dolibarr. I believe all those items should have somebody to look after, if you are not a one man bank.
It is unbelievable to see that since more than 3 years, this request is still in the starting block !

Don’t you think this should be a priority for the future of Dolibarr.
I love Dolibarr and use it on 3 of my companies … but I need to combine it with quickbook which is a lost of time and money.
If another system appears on the market and offers the accounting part … I will definitely move for it And i’m sure, i won’t be the only one.
Another point … a CRM should have a email feature … Inbox / Outbox, etc … You can’t keep the word CRM attached to Dolibarr if this functionality is not present by default !

if you read all the conversation it seems someone did but had received no funds on a 3.2 version.
Since then it is waiting “as is”; and Darkjeff is trying with a real accounting expert to make an accounting module (see french forum or darkjeff branch on github).
If your 3 companies can be able / would like to sponsor a dev, go on, it will profit all the community, and commnity will give it to you back in double
There’s a basic accounting module (works like a charm with spanish accounting groups).It’s really cheap,and you can ask for your own customization…
There’s no return on money except you will have a better accounting module financed by many, used by all, quicker to get its accounting ready for the expert to “validate”.Will you be part of it ?
