How are you managing product variants and stock in Dolibarr?

I’m working with a product range that has quite a few variations, and I’m trying to figure out the cleanest way to keep the catalogue and stock side organised in Dolibarr.

Bathroom products are a good example. You can have the same basic item in different finishes, sizes, colours, or fitting types, and things can get messy pretty quick if every variation isn’t set up properly.

I was looking through Anwer Hardware while comparing some Bathroom accessories, and it got me thinking about how other businesses structure this kind of catalogue in Dolibarr.

Do you normally create a separate product for every variation, or is there a better way to handle related products without making the product list huge?

I’m also curious how people handle stock when several variants look almost identical. Do you use product references, attributes, or some other naming system?

sounds as a perfect example for the product variants. Had a similar case for tubes.
So main product is “Tube”, variant attribute is diameter, length, colour, …
With this set you can define the differences for sales prices as well.
Just play a little with it and you will figure out. let me know if you need more guidance.
