How to insert newline in default values for multiline?

Hi everyone, I want to set a multiline default value for a multiline field (notes_public) in Purchase Order form. So everything works but I don’t get a newline. I tried using \n & also
, they both don’t work. I am attaching screenshots with explanation for reference.

Hi,
Enable the WYSIWYG editor module then click on the cog icon and enable it for the public note.

Thank you, that in combination with <br> did the trick.
