I have posted a question in the US forum, do I need to post the same question in the German forum and does my Login work there as well?

well, it’s not exactly an US forum, but the English speaking forum (although the flag may be a bit misleading). All language specific forums are separate with separate logins. So your message here is not automatically shown in the other forums. If you want to post there, you should do it in the respective languages.

Here is a thought: Why not combine all Forums together into one and people can configure if they
A: want only a particular language seen
B: would like all languages be shown in native format
C: auto translate via Google translate API so that everybody sees all posts from around the world in their native language choice. Just flag the autotranslated as such (Ideally witht eh country flag representing their writers language.
Voila, and now we have one single worldwide forum
