Hello,

RE: Install Dolibarr on a Ubuntu Plesk server (OVH)

Chances are more likely you will break the Plesk Webmin; like cPanel or Virtuoso, Plesk appears built as a package Webmin. Plesk doesn’t have Dolibarr and nether does Debian. You must follow through the steps fro installing Dolibarr including SQL setup. However, as stated it appears by reviewing Plesk, you’ll most likely break Plesk and if you’re not comfortable with SQL, I would suggest becoming comfortable first. Second, study PERL and PHP because they’re basically the same. Third become familiar with Ubuntu and Debian packages and the Aptitude package manager. It’s a lot of work, but for those who must have it done will learn it all.

Last, I would suggest you seek very hard for your server and scalability needs before moving on to an ERP. The keyword in ERP is “enterprise.” The other two (2) are “resource” and “planner.” ERPs are for those that WILL largely plan to work with enterprises, map resources and plan — a lot. You’ll do all this by yourself LONG before you’ll have help.

Most people don’t understand “commitment” and often want a handout first before any work is done. SMEs operate differently than sole proprietorships. You can guess between two (2) variables to float a constant -- meaning you must know the entire scope because it is the prototype and the only ever adapting prototype -- often called the scope.

Unfortunately, you just hit a dilemma that, only lessons learned can render discipline.

Plesk is a Webmin add-in that will operate through a proxy daemon on a “server,” though it’s not a server nor the server.

Before wasting anymore of your time, I suggest you peek at AWS or Google Cloud services.

Thank you,
