Dear friends, i have Dolibarr 12 Installed in my hosted website accout. I’m needing to create some documents for my Projects, so .ODT files looked a good idea for it. I have read online tutorials and manuals. After too many trials I could make it working. But I still have a problem… when creating a new project, under the field “Description” (Named as {object_description } inside the .ODT file to be printed: In Brazilian portuguese we use some accentuations like " ç, á é, ã …", etc… If i type a text with these accentuations, Dolibarr generates .odt file, but neither MSWord, nor Openoffice can open it… It says there’s a XML file error and nothing happen. But when i type a text wihtout accentuations it can be normaly opened with MSword or Openoffice. Could please someone help me on solving it?

I tried to use Dolibarr for almost one year. Some things looks like to not work for me, unfortunately. Changing to Odoo as a new trial in my business.

I presume you have a tag error in your odt template. Better is to unzip odt file and check content.xml
Normally when you try to open your odt file, you get an error with some position. You should search it in content.xml.
I presume a closing tag is missing. In some case use } or special charactere broke xml syntax.
I use only odt template and when I update it, I must in some case repair xml syntax as explained.

There is no guaranteed way to repair a corrupted .odt file with manual method, you can try opening the file in a text editor and manually searching for text that has been corrupted. You may also be able to open the file in OpenOffice or another compatible program and use the “Recover Text from Any File” option to try and salvage the document.
