I am working for a company in china that has never worked with crm or erp , everything is being done manually
to make transition easier i want to start moving parts of what they do to to dolibarr
the first part i want to do now(and im not sure 100% how to do it) is this:
1- salesman receives from a customer an email (with a documents/blueprints attached) with a quotation request for a new product
2- salesman passes relevant data to engineer
3- engineer who takes all data makes changes/calculations and sends a price quotation request to a factory (not part of company /external entity) attached with additional documents
4- factory sends back document with price quotation/manufacture time for requested products
5- boss decides profit margin
6- final price quotation is sent back to company customer
what would be the right way to do all of this(or most of it) trough dolibarr keeping a record of all things done on the customer records in the crm part?
salesman can input customer int dolibarr and then init a draft quotation with non content inside.
salesman add engeneer as contact of quotation into contact tab of quotation and inform ingeneer by email (there is no way however for engeneer to list all quotation he is contact for so salesman must send quotation by email to contact to tell him, “please work on this”).
engineer edit the quotation draft and attach additional documents onto quotation. He can validate it and send it by email including additional documents.
This is a recevied email by the engineer i suppose. engineer can add new elements inside the quotation card and validate the quotation.
boss read all validated quotation and informa manually engineer it’s ok. (there is for the moment no way to add a personnalized field to tag this step as done. May be an add into note tab but no way to list then according to this step.
salesman send quotation to customer.
If email is always sent using the “send by email” feature from dolibarr, all this step is tracked. The only default is that an engineer can have a list of all quotation he is linked to.
A workaround is to add use project and add task for such steps. But this increase data to input.
is what you meant in #1 is draft proposal? (if it is then i found it, if not then still need help :")
another question regarding the issue
in #3 the engineer is sending a quote request to the factory (supplier and or prospect i think) so he will create a new action regarding the factory (rather than the customer)
is there a way to make a “quote request” for services/products? (i will be asking for a price quote after all :")
is there any way for salesman to put an action into the engineer’s “Work tasks board”
