I manage two companies with a similar client base and business model (hardware rental and tech services). We rent items from each other when needed, and we both offer the same products to our clients. If one company doesn’t have one item but the other has it, we rent it from the other and then to the client. This partnership is deeper than the others we have with other companies, as we share the same management and all the stock is located in the same place.
We’d like to link our 2 dolibarr installations as much as possible, and I can’t find the best way to do it.
I thought we might use a single dolibarr instance with the multi-company module. That’s one way to go, but it’s poorly documented and I’m not sure is the best option. Ideally we would have just one product/service list, but I don’t know how we would do the cross-billing in that case. Also, I think having separate instances leave us with more margin for customizations (different templates, custom modules for each, etc.).
I don’t know if there is any other module to share the product/service database with another Dolibarr instance and sync one Dolibarr with another.
Does anybody have any experience with something like that? Any recommendations?
