I am trying to import my contacts. It is the last step I need to take to fully start using doli.
Here is my rant:
The database will not accept anything but the correct format in to some of the filelds. FI Date needs to be year/month/day and I have it the other way round
But when I am at the stage of what data needs to go where, I need some of the fileds to contain info that does not fit doli, because doli does not tell me what needs to go in some field.
I tried using the sample import file but that can not be read also, so I need to take the data out, and then I can not read it when mapping the data
If I do not have wrong data, It will not be imported, If I have correct data (customer type is 0 (zero) then it does not shop in the page where I need to map.
Thanks aljawaid but I had just finalized the import to my maximum posibilities.
Some of the pointers that may be of use to someone else:
- Always use the xlsx format for uploading, it is easier to read by yourself, and you can tweak the file as you go along
- empty records give an error too, take those rows out of the spreadsheet
- For mapping the fields the easiest way you need the first row in the spreadsheet to contain some label that you can read yourself
- there are three mandatory fields that need to contain 0 or 1 ( +3 or 4 in one field) that data is not available in your source database. You can add these with find and replace in the spreadsheet: Select the column, then go to menu>find&replace. Leave the first field empty (as you will be filling empty fields) and put 1 in the next. Mark to search and replace in “the selection” (=column) and press “replace all”. Add a label at the top of this column that you understand when you read it. these labels map to “status” ,“Customer” and “Supplier”
- if the only error you see is about line 1, delete that row containing those labels
