After going through a lot of the screens and source code i have noticed that the State Field (departement) has been ignored in a very large way, for example in the add new contact form the state field is missing.
I suggest that the state field, be included and given equal importance as the address and city field as in countries, there are many cities that people dont know, and identify them only because of the State it is in. It is an essential part of any correspondence including emails and is a must to be displayed even in the generated pdf documents.

I added the management of state in contacts in the CVS version.
However to show the state on address on pdf i need to know which country need the state (US for example) to add them in list of countries to show the state in address (some country need it, other not).
For the moment I only added “US” but if you know other country that need state in address, tell me…
Definitely India is one country where, its very important for companies specify the state in any address used anywhere especially legal documents.
We use US_EN version of dolibarr. I personally have no issues using UK English or US English as they still are English and comprehendible. Moreover I dont see any point in having a separate version of dolibarr with Indian English in it.
OK, so i added country code “IN” to be processed like “US”.
With CVS version, now if country of third party is “India”, then the state is added into address into PDF. I speak about “country” in company setup, not language file.
So you can setup your country with india and use en_US or en_UK (you choose).
PS: If you have list of states for india, i can add them in default install…

At the rate at which developments and enhancements are taking place in the development of Dolibarr, I am sure one day Dolibarr is going to be as popular as other great 100% authentic open source software like Firefox, phpBB etc.

Even the Account owner address needs State and Country field as bank accounts can be opened in any state and country and since we are already having a need to document the address then as well take down the complete address

Why you don’t make it standart that State Field and Regions are on for every country. It would be useful for every country, I believe. For example address format in Turkey, there are Central Cities like regions and some smaller cities like States which belong to those Central Cities. So it would be necessary both the State and Regions are ON for every country on PDF outputs.
Please make it standart for every country so that if somebody needs to display both the region and state he can use.
