I’ve had very little success in getting Dolibarr 20.0 installed on my Mac, getting the apache server was a hassle but I finally got to a good install of it and now I just need to get the mariadb setup. Problem is that when I try to secure the database for the first time, it tells me access denied for root@localhost. I’ve never set a password up though, is there anything I can do to get past that?

I just installed/upgraded to the newest version of Mamp on my Mac.
Before starting the installation of Dolibarr, I created an empty database and created and assigned a username with full privileges. ((I think this is the step you missed.))
During the installation, I entered the database name and username/password combo, leaving all default information as listed (i.e., no port, etc.).
The installation was completed without errors, and I can start the Setup process.
