Hi, I’m quite new to this Dolibarr ERP and ERP in general… I plan to use it for our small social enterprise, about 4 potential users right now across 4 locations. Is this ERP only usable when we are in the same local network? Or is there a way for us to access the data across the internet?

You can access from anywhere! Not need to be in the same local network if you install in a hosting.

Just use an internet hosting or a dedicated platform like ours.
hosting is cheaper but you have to know how to do it.

Any specific provider you can recommend?
For a small start-up like ours (25 SKUs, 200 expense transactions / month, 100 sales transactions / month, 2 warehouse locations, 20 suppliers). Is 1GB of space enough?
Its hosted on a webserver with a SQL database (that really should be in the same LAN).
As its a webserver, then you can use it anywhere on the planet, the method for this isnt easy (we are an IT provider in Canada), i have many web applications (servers) all being shared through a single Apache webserver (proxy) and it works very well… to do this yourself you will need a server (Windows or Linux) and an ISP that gives you a static IP address, once you have that it just configuration from that point forward. Your internet needs to be a good speed and reliable.
The other option is a cloud based sharing server, but then your database is in the cloud as well.
