I’m new to Dolibarr and have a test install on my home server. I have been playing with the ticket module but am struggling to understand what a private message is.
I assumed it means that I can add messages that would only be visible to anyone internally with the appropriate permissions. However I created an external user and added the user to the ticket’s contacts. I also made the user a Dolibarr user and gave them read permissions for tickets. This external user can see all the private messages (coloured yellow). Is this expected behaviour?
I was hoping that I could add private notes to the list of events that would not be shown to the external user.
Hello harrijer welcome Dolibarr is a flexible system with many customization features I guess it will meet your needs..
As for the ticket, tickets can be accessed by third parties and via the shared link in the ticket module settings ( https://localhost/htdocs/public/ticket/index.php ), the code created in the ticket, and the defined person’s email.
Hmm I think I may not have been clear in my original message, let me try to do better.
My understanding:
Each ticket has ‘events’ (messages, emails etc) that represent the conversation that evolves from ticket creation to completion.
My hope was that if I created a ticket targeted at an external user, I could add a message that would only be visible to internal users (there is an option to mark the message as private which I selected). For an amusing example: I create a ticket for an external user that wants me to draw two parallel lines that cross over. I might want add a private note that says ‘it seems this customer needs to go back to school’ If the customer logs on to see this ticket, I would not want them to see it!
I thought this is what a yellow comment in Dolibarr would be.
Maybe I’m doing something wrong or I have misunderstood what a private event is.
