I’m quit new to Dolibarr and can’t find out how to add categories into the system.
I have enabled the Tags/Categories module but the only option there is
“Link with parent tag/category automatically”, se attached image.
For example when adding a new vendor I would like to select a “Suppliers tags/categories” but it only shows an empty dropdown, where do I enter my categories?
I’ve been searching user guide and googled info but can’t find how to do it.

I understand you need assign category to Client/Provider, it is a Third Party.
1 - Enable Categories module
2 - Click top menu, Third Party
3 - search in Left Menu, Category entry, there is one for Clients, and one for Providers.
4 - click in Left Menu Categories
5 - Top right you have + to add new Categorie
Then, you Modify a Third Party, and add categorie to client/provider
i might have miss understood it. I was looking to have an option to tag an item to two different categories. As i do it right now i have problems when i download my sales report because both tags are shown in one cell.
it is disturbing because when i download my customized sales report the tags are not consistent showing up in the same order, or sometimes only one tag is shown only.
Just a general hint: Any work derived from Dolibarr (i.e. all changes and also all additional external modules) are automatically licensed under the GPL v3 - this is mandated by the license of Dolibarr. Therefore, you are free to do with it what you like, as long as you keep it as open source.
That is the nice thing about open source under GPL v3: You are free to build upon the code you have, even if you cannot contact the original developer any more.
