Do we need financial system beside Dolibarr

Hi
My understanding till now that Dolibarr scope will end at (accounting module) exporting GL and Journals (based on accountant request). This means that another financial system is there in the pipeline (e.g. Quickbooks) .
Am i correct?
What financial systems recommended to use? less integration hustle

Thank you in advance

Does anyone have a good answer for this? I’ve been using Dolibarr for a while to manage inventory, POs and quotes. But how can I integrate this into accounting system (like Quickbooks)?

(I really don’t understand how the Accounting module is supposed to fit into our workflow. We are a small business and a manufacturer of custom equipment.)

Thank You

  1. Dolibarr can export data, but that is a manual process.
  2. Dolibarr also has an API, so you could perhaps connect them with some glue
  3. that glue might be something like N8N

IF you end up spending money on the integration, I wish you’d spend it improving Dolibarr itself so it can do what you need

Thanks for your response @jonbendtsen
How are you using Dolibarr? I just don’t understand how to integrate it (as seamlessly as possible) into our workflow. For instance, we must handle accounting somewhere. It doesn’t look to me that Dolibarr is really a replacement for traditional accounting software.

Does that mean we use dolibarr for inventory and sales orders. But then switch to accounting software (like Quickbooks) for invoicing and bill payments?

How do others use Dolibarr in their small business?

I use Dolibarr for a small non-profit Dance organisation. I because while the others in the board and out teachers does have a user account i do most of the Dolibarr usage.

We previously used GnuCash for accounting and … i have to reveal that I have not yet started using Dolibarr for accounting. It is my plan though.

There might be different laws and regulations when it comes to for profit and non profit organizations and accounting. There are differences when it comes to size.

I do not integrate our GnuCash and Dolibarr, what I do is simply to use Dolibarr for registration and GnuCash for accounting.

We basically have 3 events with 100-150 participants or year and 5 times pr. Year we start new weekly classes with 20 participants - so our volume is small, making hand accounting possible.

So my current Dolibarr usage is not really applicable for your case.

Side question:
We currently use Quickbooks, but would like to switch (since monthly subscription for Enterprise version is getting too high). Do you know if GnuCash would be a suitable replacement? I wasn’t sure how full-featured it is… if it would handle a small business needs.

Also, I have been wondering how to integrate with Dolibarr. So if we use Dolibarr for invoicing, how to get that into GnuCash. Is there any easier way than duplicating the invoice?

Thanks
