Failed to force character_set_client to utf8

Hello,
Since several years I’m using Dolibarr and I’m happy with it.
Now I have the following. In trying to acces the site I get this message:

Failed to force character_set_client to utf8 (according to setup) to match the one of the server database.
Can’t initialize character set utf8 (path: /usr/share/mysql/charsets/)

I’m using Dolibar 20.3 on a hosted site with C-panel.
I tried different things but now succes.
What can I do to gain access to my site? all my data and clients are not reachable.
I need help.

with Php myadmin can I acces my database.

which database charset is it configured for?

Its using UTF8mb4 as characterset.

  1. using phpmyadmin take a backup of your database
  1. does that folder actually exist? what is in it? Can it be read by the webuser that runs the dolibarr software?

The problem got solved by my hosting provider. during a update there went something wrong and some php files got corrupted what caused the error Which files I do not know
