I’ve been thinking about this after seeing how many different tools businesses end up using for basic day to day work.
You’ve got customers in one place, invoices somewhere else, stock in another system, then spreadsheets for little things that the main software doesn’t cover. After a while it gets kinda hard to keep everything in sync.
That’s one reason I like the idea of an all in one setup. I was looking at Viper recently and it got me thinking about how much people actually prefer having everything under one system versus using separate tools for each job.
With Dolibarr, there are already modules for things like customers, products, orders, invoices, stock and projects, so I’m curious how far people here actually take that approach.
Do you keep most of your business workflow inside Dolibarr, or do you still rely on a few separate apps for specific tasks?
I’m especially interested in what people found worth keeping separate and what they eventually moved into Dolibarr.
Hi,
we are medical device manufacturer and using Dolibarr for all business processes.
Quotations, orders, order confirmations, shipments, purchase orders, HR holiday,…
BOMs, MOs,…Tickets and a couple of own extensions for your special medical device needs.
I use Dolibarr as a backend for a dance class registration system for the non profit where I am the treasurer.
I have a little python flask page system in front that feeds the actual registrations into Dolibarr using the API, and I have a dashboard for the organizers to VIEW registrations, this also uses the API. When we accept someone, we just validate the order in Dolibarr.
We’ve started sending emails using Dolibarrs mass mail system, but it is not as easy as we want.
As a manufacturer, it’s invaluable to have our sales team and production linked and working natively together in one system.
We use dolibarr to manage everything from inventory, to incoming leads, warranties, support requests, inbound and outbound marketing to some extent and that seems to be the limit of Dolibarrs utility: outboud/marketing.
