I’m looking to improve product search in Dolibarr, especially when creating commercial documents: customer orders, invoices, quotes, etc.
What I want:
To be able to search for a product by typing a word contained in its description, and not just by its reference or name.
Example:
A product has:
Reference: 72828IKJ
Description: Safety shoes model BABA in black leather
When I type “baba” in the product search field to add a product, I would like this product to automatically appear in the results — even if “baba” is only present in the description.
My questions:
Is there a configuration in Dolibarr that enables searching inside product descriptions?
Can this search be extended to all types of documents (orders, invoices, commercial proposals, etc.)?
Is there a module or extension (free or paid) that allows this to be done properly?
For those who had this need, what do you think is the best practice to achieve this?
