I have activated automatic item numbers in the product integrations, see image.
What do I need to keep in mind when importing products so that the item numbers are generated automatically?
I only want to use the supplier’s item number for internal purposes.
Customers can see the automatic item ID, not the supplier’s.
Can anyone help me here?
I have an Excel spreadsheet with prices, item numbers, and manufacturer’s description.

I don’t import products. You could put the suppliers item number in a Complementary Attribute, and hide that from the PDF, but still show it in the GUI and API
Thank you for your answer, but that doesn’t answer my question.
I don’t want to hide the item number, but rather assign my own item number automatically, as configured in the settings.
I don’t understand the automatic reference assignment for the items in the import wizard.
The system assigns an automatic item number manually, but not when importing with an Excel list.
What must be in the item number “Ref.” column in Excel for the system to perform automatic numbering?
Or is that not possible at all?
