Mail template and salutations

Hey there,

I searched and researched a lot. I have troubles with the replacements of variables in emails.

We have a bunch of third parties, which are no customer, supplier and no prospects. They get from time to time some informational emails (the goal is to convert them to customers, of course. The initiation phase takes time in our field).

However, I have to change the “dear madam, dear sir” salutation to “dear Mr. Jones”. Every third party we want to contact has a contact person in dolibarr. But what is the correct variable, if I send an email from the third party’s tab (Third-parties > List > (typing the name) > (click on the company) > Send email > choose template > apply).

I am also wondering, why the contacts (not the third-parties) have fields like “Proposal’s contact”, “Contract’s contact” and “Invoice’s contact”, but all of them states “This contact is not a contact for any xyz”. Ist this somehow connected?

Environment: Debian Linux (if it matters), Doli version 20.0.2

is that what you mean? That is probably because the contact has not been selected as a contact for any proposal, order or invoice.

IF you click on the little i next to the message

then you get a popup with some variables you can use.

There is this variable __CONTACTCIVNAME__ -> but it has no value in one of my Thirdparties - possibly because I have several contacts on that Thirdparty.

What if you go into the contacts for this Thirdparty and send emails from in there?
