Number of User accounts

Hello All,

  1. Please does anyone know how number of user accounts can be regulated in Dolibarr?
  2. How can one add a local 3rd party payment gateway such that when payment is made to the bank it updates Dolibarr automatically
  3. How can an existing member renew his/her membership under the membership module? I think since there is creation, there should also be a renewal feature or public self service link as well that can be added to a website page rather than sending email to notify of reminder. A membership ID would be used as the guide to update same person’s record

Just don’t make any more new users??

I don’t know of any such function.

That would be fantastic, and I’d prefer that the invoice is not created until they have paid. Maybe use an order. Or it could start a contract and run recurring until ended?

  1. You can add as many user accounts as you need, we have a couple of instances with 600+ users.
  2. Think of it differently…we recently developed a module for GoCardless to collect one off and recurring payments, GoCardless knows which payments have been collected so out GoCardless / Dolibarr integration beings the payment status information back from GoCardless to Dolibarr no bank account integration is needed. With some payment gateways (Stripe, GoCardless etc) that also have ready made Xero/Quickbooks integrations so if your Dolibarr is integrated with Xero/Quickbooks then these 3-way integrations can also work well.
  3. For memberships it is better to implement auto-renewing subscriptions and inplement a Direct Debit (e.g. GoCardless) payment facility as opposed to relying on members to renew their memberships manually via card payments…you can then automate everything end to end and you won’t have a significant drop off because members don’t see renewal emails/lack time to renew manually etc.

Hi Mark,

This is brilliant. The approaches suggested are really impressive, i appreciate this.

For numbers 2 and 3, I have the following information to pass maybe it can be well tailored to fit

Nos. 2

  1. Since Dolibarr has an accounting aspect of it, will it not be cumbersome having a quickbooks to it?
  2. I really dont know the steps, is it to first integrate Quickbooks to Dolibarr and then GoCardless to quickbooks?
  3. I dont know how to calculate the charges, that would help me know if its gainful to have it deployed
  4. I am in Nigeria, does this platform work in Nigeria?

Nos 3
For memberships, we may not be able to do direct debit because its an association and members can have the choice not to be a financial member. If its direct debit, we may have issues. However, what i look forward to is to have a renewal link where the member can put in his membership ID, it generates his details and the amout to be paid. Once done either by the Go Cardless or any other payment Gateway, it automatically syncs with Dolibarr and an inhouse user can now validate the renewed entry by clicking a renew butoon and his staus is updated

Hope this helps if you understand my narration

Thank you

  1. The Accounting capabilities in Dolibarr are pretty poor and not as comprehensive/robust as proper accounting software.
  2. We have a Quickbooks to Dolibarr integration, however it doesn’t seem like GoCardless is available in Nigeria so you would need a custom integration with another payment gateway (Stripe does support one off and recurring payments…but the delivered integration for Stripe only provides limited functionality).
  3. You will need to evaluate payment gateways individually
  4. I believe Quickbooks is available in Nigeria, but not GoCardless so you would need to look at alternative payment gateways etc…the payment gateway would need to integrate either with Quickbooks or Dolibarr.

If you are using Quickbooks we have a Dolibarr to Quickbooks integration that could handle this part.
