I am working in a company that is selling and servicing devices. I installed Dolibarr 22.0.4 which is working fine. But I do not know how to link an product with SN to a customer.
If a customer has a device and request from me a service, than I should be able to enter in customer area and attache a product with a specific SN (unic). Than i want to make a New Service for this product.
Can you please help me with this request? (I am a newbee)
Maybe the same works for Product Lots - just a lot more detailed?
Another option would be to create a complementary attribute on the invoice where you would fill in the serial number, and then to find that invoice you would just look in your list of invoices, and fill out the serial number column (you might have to add the serial number column to the table listing all your invoices).
Okay, so what if you have multiple serial numbers sold to the same customer? well, you could add the serial number to a contact and create a contact under that customer with the serial number. Then do the same as with the invoice suggestion.
But I hope that the Product Lot will help you, and I think that is where you should start looking.
It is enabled. But not help me more. The way that a product come connected with a customer is invoice, order etc. But in my case, the customer has allread the product. I am only servicing and not selling.
Another option could still be to add a complementary attribute to invoices and then even if you sell a service that also has a complementary attribute where you write the serial number as well?
Both of these ways may still allow you to have a list of invoices or interventions where you have a serial number column that you can search in?
I recommend creating a custom module to handle this. I’ll implement a User Defined Field (UDF) to generate a unique number based on specific business rules or logic. From there, the module will create a service visit and save all necessary details linked to that specific product.
it is same problem i have it will be nice to have a possible to make machine registered to customer and then next problem will be in intervention where you will look for a way to registered spareparts on intervention but have go to order instead so i will love to hear more about your issue
Another possible way to approach this might be to create a “New Service” for each of your customers. Once that is done, create how many other “Variants” for that customer with the “Attributes” being the serial number for each machine that you are servicing. You would be able to adjust pricing such that you can tailor the selling price to reflect higher and lower fees dependent upon each variant. [ie. some machines easier/cheaper to fix than others] if so desired.
I was using 10 years a SAP solution. In this situation, I had for each customer definde a “Function Location” that include different devices. So, I would like to create a section, where if I point a customer, to see all devices that he has. And than if I select one device, I can see how many service intervention was done, invoiced etc.
Maybe it is possible to create a new “function” like interest stock at customer?
I recommend renaming the tickets module to Serial numbers module, and you have everything you need to track and service devices. We use it already for many years, works fantastic add a few extra fields for your requirements and it works very well.
